Detailed Itinerary
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), we'll greet you and transfer you to Moshi/Arusha. Take some time to rest and, weather permitting, catch a glimpse of the majestic Kilimanjaro rising above the town.
Overnight in Dar es Salaam
Early morning departure from your hotel to Selous Game Reserve, a scenic 5-hour drive. Arrive in time for lunch in this vast reserve, larger than Switzerland, renowned for its diverse habitats and significant populations of elephants and lions. Explore the reserve on foot, by vehicle, and on a river cruise, staying overnight in intimate fly-camps under starlit skies.
Overnight in Selous
After breakfast, embark on a 5-hour journey to Ifakara. In the afternoon, enjoy a relaxing boat trip upstream, where you might encounter hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of birds, including the elusive Kilombero Weaver and possibly a shoebill. Picnic on a sandbank and later drive to your lodge.
Overnight in Udzungwa Mountains
Today, trek through the stunning landscapes and forests of Udzungwa Mountains National Park. Guided by an expert, discover medicinal trees and a plethora of bird species. Reach the summit to behold the breathtaking Sanje Waterfalls and gaze upon the vast Kilombero Sugarcane Valley.
Overnight in Udzungwa
Journey to Ruaha National Park, Tanzania's largest park, for an immersive wildlife experience. Marvel at diverse wildlife including kudu, elephants, and rare species like wild dogs. With over 570 bird species, it's a paradise for birdwatchers. Enjoy game drives by vehicle and on foot.
Overnight in Ruaha
Travel from Ruaha to Mikumi, stopping en route at the historic 'Isimila Stone Age Historical Site'. Explore Mikumi, renowned for its diverse birdlife and large mammals such as giraffes, buffaloes, and elephants. Look out for predators like lions and leopards. The Mkata River floodplain offers excellent wildlife viewing.
Overnight in Mikumi
After a morning game drive in Mikumi, depart for a 5-6-hour drive back to Dar es Salaam, with a lunch stop en route. Check into your hotel for a relaxing evening.
